PPDK Mambong

We are involved in the Pusat Pemulihan Dalam Komuniti Mambong (PPDK Mambong). My wife got me into this, by telling me the nurses at 10th mile KKIA (Klinik Kesihatan Ibu & Anak / Mother and Child Health Clinic) asked her to attend a meeting. So she wanted me to come along. Next moment, I am the President for the Parents Suppport Group at Mambong. The case of Mr Gay's family really touched me and it, with Puan Ator strong support, helped us to get the PPDK started.

And in two years time, we started the PPDK with the strong support of the nurses, especially Puan Ator Nadeng. Lo and behold, I am now also the President of the PPDK Mambong. See the opening ceremony photos here. The PPDK now has, at the last count 30 over registered participants. They are children with Downs Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy and other ailments. We have 3 staff, headed by Puan Suji (PPDK Office no: 082 618580) and trying to expand so that we can cater to more children in the area. There is at least 80 known cases in this area. A good thing for us is the strong support we obtain from the parents, Welfare Department and YB James Dawos.

Aside from money, we need equipment, toys and such for the children. We are also looking for a place. As of now, we are at Rajah Charles Brooke Hospital, and we need a more permanent site. So anyone who has a house or land in that area, please do call Puan Suji.
