Computer Died Yet Again

The new computer died again.
There was a slight whirring sound as I left for lunch. When I came back, the room smelt of burning plastic and there was a rather loud whirring sound. I shut off the computer. Called the tech people who came and took the computer away. So now I don't have a computer at work. Using a laptop for the moment and accessing the web through the wireless network at the faculty's lobby!
Aaaaarrrrrrrrrgggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Whirring sound and a smell of burned plastic you said ? It sounds like the old case of the overheated cpu or burned out ppack hehe.. The only thing I can imagine is the loose internal cable hits the cpu fan (hence the whirring sound) and when the fan jammed up, the cpu on the mobo will overheat (the smell of burning plastic) Or something or lizard, or an insect were having a picnic inside your power pack and hits the pcb.
